On a summer day Amanda can often be found at a local market, festival, or enjoying a local beverage on an outdoor patio. In the winter you will likely find her at the mountain enjoying as much fresh snow as possible. Her absolute favorite thing to do is to travel with her family. Whether it be to the Maine coast, Alaska, somewhere tropical, or Europe, Amanda is happiest planning and taking their next family trip. As much as she enjoys an outdoor adventure, she also loves to nurture her creative side with a good craft project and quilting.

Amanda started at Choice PT as a student, and part time as a new graduate. After several years in sub-acute rehab, knew this was the place she wanted to return to work. Some of the experience she brings to the team includes working with patients post-op, an extensive knowledge geriatric care and strengthening, working with patients post CVA, with patients with Parkinsons Disease, and those with orthopedic injuries. She has always loved the sense of team work Choice has, as well as the dedication to staying current in treatment practices and appreciation for the importance of hands on manual therapy. When you are a patient at Choice PT, you are there for more than just your injury, and she is thankful for the ability to get to know everyone she works with and the feeling that the entire team at Choice PT wants to help every person who walks through the door.

Melissa Cleveland

Melissa Cleveland,
PTA

Melissa has been practicing as a Physical Therapist Assistant since 2009. She received an Associate of Science/Physical Therapist Assistant degree from Villa Maria College and a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy degree from Daemen college in Buffalo, NY. Upon receiving her degrees, Melissa started off her career working in a SNF for 7 ½ years in NY, then she began travelling as a clinician throughout the United States working in various settings ranging from privately owned outpatient orthopedic clinics in the desert of southern AZ to subacute care settings with emphasis on stroke recovery and neurological rehabilitation in West Philadelphia, PA. Melissa enjoys providing care to people from all walks of life. She believes that every life matters and loves helping them return to what they love to do.

Melissa has a strong interest in continual learning and often seeks ways to grow in her profession. In addition to receiving training and certification in manual therapy, IASTM, and kinesio taping, it wasn't until recently that Melissa was exposed to and learned about a neuromechanical and respiratory treatment approach that bases it's methodology on asymmetrical patterns of movement, recognizing that the right side of the body differs from the left. This interest stemmed from courses she took and is still taking through the Postural Restoration Institute. Melissa hopes to one day obtain certification through the Institute.

Aside from working, Melissa has travelled to 46 states and 12 countries as a music and prayer missionary. She loves to talk about her experiences and she enjoys connecting with people and encouraging them, so they can be restored physically, mentally, and spiritually. You can find Melissa leading music teams and joining in with music teams all across VT at various indoor/outdoor gatherings. She also teaches and trains musicians and vocalists here in VT on how to grow in playing their instrument in a more spontaneous way using proper breath support. Additionally, Melissa loves the outdoors, hiking, kayaking, snowboarding, Nordic skiing, playing tennis, going to the gym, reading, writing songs, and/or journalling while sitting by a lake with a mountain view. But above all else Melissa loves to spend time alone with God in the great outdoors and to take long road trips to visit her family and friends in NY.
